A native of Pride, Louisiana, Dr. Stubbs earned his Bachelor of Science in zoology from Louisiana State University (LSU) and his Doctor of Medicine from LSU School of Medicine, where he completed his residency in orthopedic surgery. He completed a fellowship at the Mississippi Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center and was a staff orthopedic surgeon in the U. S. Air Force, stationed at Keesler Air Force Base in Mississippi.
